2017 Ford Ranger: New Features, Arrival

The Ford Ranger, mid-size pickup truck, is another important product for the Blue Oval Brand. This version is being sold outside of the US but growing popularity of mid-sized trucks might push Ford to reconsider returning this model in United countries. Outside the US this product is good seller which is faced with strong rivals like the new Toyota Hilux, VW Amarok, Mitsubishi L200, and Nissan Navara.

For The last model year this vehicle has received mid-life facelift which brought more than a few upgrades. The exterior styling has been refreshed with new front elements and some revisions have been seen inside where more and upgraded equipment is available. The models have also gained revised suspension and steering system is new electronic-powered system. However, Ford doesn’t stop there and in order to catch up top-selling Toyota Hilux, the new 2017 Ford Ranger will gain array of new and upgraded tech features. 2017 Ford Ranger: Changes, Features

The revised styling for the last model year will not introduce new radical cuts with arrival of the new 2017 Ford Ranger. Last year reworked grille and new narrower headlights will stay on their positions just like most of other elements. The new small detail will be black bezels around fog lights on the XLT versions. There will also be some transitions in color options where Black Mica will be replaced with Jet Black and Meteor Grey will take the position from Metropolitan Grey.

Inside won’t also be styling changes but revisions will be made across the trims range. The model remains available in the current trim lineup and same body configurations but there will be equipment re-grouping and new futures will be added. In that regard, all models except XL plus and cab-chassis version will include rear view camera and rear parking sensors. Aside from that top trims including XLT and Wildtrak will get upgraded Sync3 infotainment system which replaces actual Sync2 version. New version features an 8-inch touchscreen with support for Android Auto and Apple Car Play. Top of the line Wildtrak version also benefits from now standard safety features which include automatic high beams, lane departure warning, lane keeping assist, and adaptive cruise control.

2017 Ford Ranger: Powertrains

Powering the new 2017 Ford Ranger will be the pair of familiar TDCi engines. The smaller 2.0 liter engine with four-cylinders can produce 156 hp and 385 Nm of torque. More powerful 3.2 liter unit with five-cylinders can make 194 hp at 3,000 rpm and peak torque of 470 Nm is available from 1, 500 to 2, 750 rpm. This engine will be now tuned to meet Euro 5 standards. The model can be had with rear-wheel drive but the most buyers will surely go with electronically controlled four-wheel drive system. A six-speed automatic gearbox will be available across the range but 4WD Super Cab chassis version with the 3.2 motor which was only available with manual shifter will now include option for automatic gearbox. On the other hand, the Ranger will allow up to 1, 199kg of payload capacity and peak towing is 3, 500 kg.

The new 2017 Ford Ranger is expected to be available in September but this is unofficial. The pricing is also yet to be announced and some updates are expected due to equipment changes.
