The things are evolving fast in pickup truck industry and if you want to stay relevant you have to keep the pace with others. Engineers from the Holden company know that and as the result the facelifted 2017 Holden Colorado has been shown in new light. It is now better in many aspects and closer to rivals as never before.

What’s new?

Reworked Holden Colorado brings improvements in its exterior styling, and interior is also modern progression over the current version. There is also raft of the new technology features including upgraded infotainment system and upgraded safety. On the other hand reworked Holden’s truck continues with the same platform including familiar engine but some improvements in suspension and steering are also present.

2017 Holden Colorado: Modernized Styling

In terms of styling the 2017 Holden Colorado is modern step forward compared to its previous version.  Despite that the most of changes are focused on the front side it looks more attractive and its new styling has evolved toward the US equivalents.

In its reworked front fascia, the model features new headlights adorned with LED daytime running lights and between them is slimmer interpretation of Holden’s twin port grille. Bellow is more aggressive bumper which includes dynamic shapes and lines and fog lights. In the same manner its hood also gets more aggressive treatment.

Refined Interior:

Inside the model also benefits from many modern improvements. The dash has been redesigned and it now features stronger horizontal design and well-arranged center stack. The quality of materials has also been lifted to the next level. The comfortable seats will provide good body support for long rides. The head and legroom is also great for the front passengers.

Upgraded tech and safety:

The passenger in the new Colorado will also enjoy in upgraded MyLink infotainment system which will available on all versions with either 7- or 8-inch screens. The system will support Apple car Play and Android auto plus there will be DAB digital radio, voice recognition, navigation and more.

On the safety front, the new truck adds forward collision alert and lane departure warring which will be available on higher levels including LTZ and Z71 versions. It will also include seven airbags, rearview camera, front and rear parking sensors, tyre pressure monitors, remote start, etc.

Available configurations:

Like every good truck it is available in wide range of configurations. There will cab chassis versions as well as Single Cab, Space Cab and Crew Cab body styles. Available trims will include LS, LT, LTZ and top Z71.

2017 Holden Colorado: Performance

Powering the new 2017 Holden Colorado will be familiar turbodiesel engine. This 2.4 liter four-cylinder engine can produce 147 kW (197 hp) and when paired with the six-speed manual transmission torque reaches 440 Nm while six-speed automatic improves the torque to 500 Nm.

The model will also include two- and four wheel drive versions and peak towing capability is at 3, 500 kg. Depending on the configuration payload capacity will vary between 1487 kg and 1000 kg.

Improved drive train:

While driving, the improvements will be noticed in better handling and more responsive steering. That comes from reworked suspension which benefits from retuned spring rates, new shock absorbers and enhanced stabilized bar. The steering system has also been upgraded and it adds electric assisted rack which responds on speeds changes with variable resistivity.

The new 2017 Holden Colorado has been available in dealerships from September. Depending on its equipment level and configuration the price varies from the base single cab chassis that costs $29, 490 to top of the line Z71 model which is available for $54, 490.
