2019 Ford Super Duty: Design

The visual changes are not expected on the 2019 Ford Super Duty. Ford redesigned the Super Duty models for the 2017 model including models’ exterior design. The same aesthetic principles Ford also applied to the refreshed, best-selling, light-duty 2018 F-150.

The Super Duty models will continue with the two-bar style grille design and C-shaped headlights. The grille finish and exterior accents will differ in each trim as well the level of the chrome and wheel designs. The body sculpting will also have the same, smart creases and Ford will again offer three cab styles and choice of two-bed lengths.

Interior, Equipment:

The recent redesign also brought more spacious cabins and the latest equipment to the Super Duty Series. The 2019 versions won’t differ much from the current versions but Ford will, of course, made some changes in equipment organization and offer.

The models will be available in multiple trim choices and with available packages and options, there will be hard to count variations. The trim options will include XL, XLT, Lariat, King Ranch, Platinum and Limited. The latest Sync infotainment system will be available in all versions, standard or as an option. The model will also be available with the active safety systems like the surround-view cameras, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane departure warning and intervention, adaptive cruise control, etc.

On the performance front, the 2019 Ford Super Duty will return with the same engine options and other running gear. The Super Duty models should get the heavy-duty version of the 10-speed automatic transmission but latest reports suggest the availability of this gearbox in late 2019 for the 2020 version. The new shifter should bring performance, efficiency and torque upgrades but the upcoming version will likely stick with the six-speed automatic.

The standard engine on most versions will remain a 6.2-liter flex-fuel V-8. For the 2019 model year power will likely stay at 385 hp and torque at 430 lb-ft. More impressive is a 6.7-liter Power Stroke Turbo Diesel. This engine maxes 450 hp and 935 lb-ft of torque in the latest version and these numbers should continue to the 2019 model year.

The same numbers should stay for the payload and towing limits. The Ford Super Duty will provide 7, 360-lbs maximum payload and conventional tow limit of 23, 000 lbs. The fifth-wheel and gooseneck tow limits should be 27, 500 and 34, 000 lbs respectively.
