The mid-size Holden Colorado is another model worth considering in this crowded class. With the last refresh received for the 2017 version, the Colorado is a sleek and capable model with the efficient turbodiesel engine and composed ride. The brand added recently the SportCat versions with more aggressive styling and some suspension upgrades. 

As for the future upgrades, the brand’s official confirmed that the new-generation Holden Colorado is already in works and a few details surfaced about the new design. The next iteration of the model will be designed with global market demands in the mind and that should mean more specs shared with the US Chevy Colorado version. The new truck will also ditch the Isuzu-shared parts from the current partnership and get the new chassis. Expect also the new Holder Colorado to be longer and wider. The brand will also continue to prioritize the diesel powertrain. The new generation Colorado should also gain the hardcore, off-road version similar to the US ZR2.

However, the new generation Holden Colorado should hit the market for the 2021 model year or more likely as the 2022 version. In the meantime, the 2020 Holden Colorado will likely try to keep attention with a new dressed-up version and some tech upgrades. The new safety equipment like the automatic emergency braking should also arrive before the next redesign.

The 2020 Holden Colorado will stay in the same shape and with the same styling as the current version. The model will switch to the new platform from the current Isuzu-shared unit and grow in size for the new generation version when the styling will also evolve to the new form.

In the meantime, the 2020 version will continue to live on the updates from the last refresh in 2017. The brand is expected to offer a new version of the model with the styling cues from the Colorado Concept shown at the 2016 Bangkok Show. There will also be new color and wheel options for the next version.

The truck will provide various styling modifications depending on the trim version and there will be the wheel options ranging from the 16 to 18 inches. The signature two-piece grille will switch between the black finish, chrome details and body color surround depending on the version. The unique graphic details will appear on the Z71 version and the HSV SportsCat versions will also have unique styling add-ons.

Interior, equipment:

Inside the cabin, the 2020 Colorado will also stay a familiar form. The last mid-update improved the interior comfort and quality and brought also the modern tech and safety features. Still, the next Holden Colorado could gain some missing safety equipment like the automatic emergency braking and a few new styling details in the new version.

On the other hand, the Colorado will offer the modern infotainment system with Apple Car Play and Android Auto in every trim. There will be different screen sizes including 7 and 8-inch options and available, integrated navigation. The truck will also offer a premium upholstery and sound system.

The 2020 Holden Colorado won’t change the reliable and proven turbodiesel engine and when commented the next generation version, the brand official confirmed that the diesel burner will remain the main power unit but haven’t excluded the petrol option.

A smooth and efficient 2.8-liter Duramax diesel engine will provide up to 500 Nm of torque available from 2000 rpm and peak power of 147 kW at 3600 rpm. That will be possible with the automatic transmission while the manual gearbox will limit the torque to 440Nm.

The truck will also support the max towing capacity of 3500 kg while maximum payload will reach close to 1500kg. The model will also offer extensive, off-road upgrades including the suspensions tweaks, underbody protection, all-terrain tires, etc.

The 2020 Holden Colorado will hit the market by the end of 2019 with the limited number of upgrades. The new-generation Holden Colorado will join as the 2021 version or more likely as the 2022 Colorado. With no significant improvements, the price should also stay close to the current range.
