2020 Nissan Titan Warrior: Rumors, Design

The full-size Nisan Titan and larger Titan XD are well-rounded pickup trucks which meet modern requirements but still fail behind the competitors. The current Titans provide enough power and capability, flexibility and modern equipment but when you are fighting with the Detroit-based trio you need more. The Titan is also outsold by the Toyota Tundra and even mid-size Frontier with the design from the previous decade performs better on the market.

Nissan introduced the current generation Titan in 2016 and was spotted recently while testing the refreshed version. Precise details about the upgrades are still unknown but spy photos reveal restyled exterior and updated interior with the new center stack. The light-duty model should also bring some mechanical improvements and a new entry-level V-6 engine is expected to appear. The heavy-duty Titan XD will likely return with the same powertrain options.

However, there are speculations spreading in the industry that Nissan might revive the Nissan Titan Warrior concept and put this version to production. The speculations of this kind have been present since the presentation of the Titan Warrior Concept in 2016 but Nissan hasn’t commented yet on them. The prototype version hasn’t been spotted on the road to support the claims and we don’t have any solid proof that this version is coming. However, it is sure that the 2020 Nissan Titan Warrior would get great attention if it would appear.

2020 Nissan Titan Warrior: Design

When Nissan presented the Titan Warrior Concept in 2016, it was the road-ready truck with the in-production parts. Nissan used a “modern armor” exterior theme on the concept version and if the 2020 Nissan Titan Warrior appears, it should adopt some of that style.

Judging by the spy photos, the refreshed Titan model will get usual mid-cycle upgrades. The front section should appear with the revised grille styling and upgraded headlights. The camouflage on the front and rear bumpers suggest some tweaks on them as well and taillights should also be refreshed.

However, if the next Titan XD comes in the Warrior Concept-inspired form it should sport a more aggressive style than other versions. The additional off-road gear would also affect the look of the model. The Titan Warrior would use unique, dark-finish grille version combined with the authentic front bumper. The wider fender flares would also add to its appearance as well and taller ride height, skid plates, knobby, all-terrain tires, unique trim pieces, etc.

Interior, Equipment:

The refreshed Titan and Titan XD will also get upgraded interiors. Both models should appear with the new instrument panels and the center stack should get a larger touchscreen. The infotainment system will provide smartphone support and should appear with upgraded features. The models could also bring additional, active safety systems.

The Titan Warrior would also get unique upholstery and trim pieces combined with sports seats. The model should also use carbon fiber, chrome and contrasting pieces to form unique interior ambient. There would also be additional high-comfort and tech features available in this version.

2020 Nissan Titan Warrior: Performance

The 2020 Nissan Titan Warrior would provide the next-level, off-road capability if it hit the market. Nissan offers already the capable PRO-4X trim with the lockable rear differential, a two-speed transfer case, skid plates, all-terrain tires, and Bilstein shocks. However, the Titan warrior would build on that with the lifted suspension, upgraded racing-style shocks, upgraded upper and lower control arms, unique ball joints, larger axles, etc.

The engine of choice would be a 5.0-liter Cummins turbodiesel V-8 combined with the heavy-duty 6-speed automatic Aisin transmission.  The engine makes 310 hp and torque of 555 pound-feet in the current Titan XD.

The Titan Warrior model would provide extreme off-road capability and still be able to tow between 10, 000 and 12, 000 pounds.

2020 Nissan Titan Warrior: Release, Price

The arrival of the refreshed Titan models will be in the last quarter of the year. The price should stay close to the current range.

If the 2020 Nissan Titan Warrior appears, the price of the model could be in the mid-$50, 000 area. However, considering available information the chances that the Warrior version will appear for the next model year are very slim. On the other hand, several brands announced the introduction of the hard-core versions in the near future and Nisan should definitely consider this option.
