Toyota revised the range of the color options available with the TRD Pro version. Gone are Voodoo Blue and Cavalry Blue. The new model year brings Army Green, Magnetic Gary Metallic, Midnight Black Metallic and Super White as options.

The visual identity of the mighty Tacoma TRD Pro will define a unique black grille with “TOYOTA” signature and combined with new projector-beam headlights with black bezels and LED daytime running lights. The model sports also Rigid Industries LED fog lights and LED fog lights again with black bezels.

Adding to the personality of the Tacoma TRD Pro will also be a hood scoop and black overfenders and badging. The truck gets also unique TRD Pro skid plate and new 16-inch wheels. The new black TRD wheels are about 4 pounds lighter than the previous design and will come wrapped with the Goodyear Wrangler All-Terrain Kevlar-reinforced tires.

The 2020 Tacoma TRD Pro will appear in the crew cab with short cargo bed form only.

The new Tacoma TRD Pro will keep all things at same place inside the cabin but there will be some in-car technology and comfort upgrades for the new model year.

The driver gets a new, 10-way power seat for better comfort. The new Tacoma gets also upgraded infotainment system with an 8-inch touchscreen and support for Apple Car Play, Android Auto and Amazon Alexa. The truck includes also premium JBL sound system, navigation and wireless charging.

All fancy things are good to see but the off-road gear is what matters most in this case.

The 2020 Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro comes again with the standard 3.5-liter V-6 engine and four-wheel drive. Buyers can again opt between the six-speed manual and six-speed electronically controlled automatic gearbox. The power delivery is again 278 hp and peak torque is 265 pound-feet.

The model exploits part-time, four-wheel drive system including electronically controlled rear differential and two-speed transfer case.

With this hardware, the truck can tow up to 6, 800 pounds. The fuel economy should be 17 mpg city and 20 mpg highway with the manual gearbox. A slight improvement to 18 mpg city and 22 mpg highway will be possible with the automatic transmission.

The upgrades for the new model year include the mentioned 16-inch, light wheels and revised suspension components. The TRD Pro enters the new market year with retuned springs and 2.5-inch Fox internal bypass shocks.

The refreshed 2020 Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro should be available by the year-end. The price of the off-road ready Tacoma should stay close to $43, 000.
