The Tundra TRD Pro stands out with its off-road capability but has a unique visual identity as well. The TRD Pro version has unique six-sided mesh grille with the TOYOTA signature in the middle of it. The truck also gets attention with the scooped hood and comes also with the skid plates, unique wheels and body-color bumpers. There are more unique details such as dark-themed LED lights and Rigid industries fog lights.
The 2020 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro should get the new, lightweight wheels like the recently refreshed, mid-size Tacoma and refreshed lights.
The next generation Tundra expected for the 2021 model year will bring radical structural and extensive exterior upgrades as the latest reports suggest. Toyota plans to use the new F1 platform on the models outside the US and the new underpinning will also allow the adoption of the electrified powertrain.
Interior, Equipment:
There won’t be notable design changes inside the cabin of the next Toyota Tundra TRD Pro. The model will keep all elements at their positions but should bring an upgraded infotainment system.
The Tundra TRD Pro will come with the 8-inch touchscreen interface including also Android Auto, Apple Car Play and Android Alexa support. The part of the equipment list will also be a premium JBL sound system and navigation.
Toyota equips all its models with advanced safety systems and the next Tundra TRD Pro won’t be an exception. The model will rely on lane departure warning, automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, adaptive cruise control and automatic high-beam headlights.
Unique on the TRD Pro version will also be dark exterior with contrasting stitching and TRD Pro logos, floor mats and gear knob.
2020 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro: Performance
The Toyota Tundra looks unique and has comfortable interior but the off-road upgrades are what makes this model special.
The 2020 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro will have factory-built, 2-inch suspension lift for higher ground clearance and wheel articulation. The model uses also larger, aluminum Fox dumpers which provide multiple damping control and improved heat dissipation. Important for the off-roading is also lightweight wheels wrapped with all-terrain tires, and skid plates for the protection of the vital components.
Powering the Tundra TRD Pro will again be a 5.7-liter V-8 engine capable of producing 381 hp and torque of 401 pound-feet. Paired to the engine will be 6-speed automatic transmission. The model will also exploit the part-time four-wheel-drive system with automatic limited slip differential and electronically checked transfer case. The TRD Pro won’t be a very frugal truck with the fuel economy of 13 mpg city and 17 mpg highways.

The launch date of the 2020 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro will be late in the year. Toyota hasn’t talked about the price of the model yet but buyers should be ready to pay around $50, 000 for this model.
