The all-new 2022 Chevy Avalanche is unofficially coming to the market. As you may know, this model had been rendered last year, and until now, we didn’t get any positive feedback from its manufacturer. The last time we saw this popular truck was in late 2013. Moreover, after almost twelve years of production, the Chevrolet company decided to discontinue its production due to not-so-good sales.
However, rumors are not settling down, and Chevrolet will deliver a brand-new model that should join the race with other companies. Generally, we can expect the new pickup to arrive in a few configurations, including crew cab. Also, it will most likely use some of the existing engines, delivering excellent performances and economy.
2022 Chevy Avalanche Facelift
From the first renderings, the new generation of the 2022 Chevy Avalanche looks completely different than its predecessor. First of all, renderings are not yet officially confirmed, and who knows what Chevy will do at the end. However, we would be glad to analyze those photos. For a start, images reveal that the new generation will look very attractive and sporty. Probably and most likely, Chevys’ goal is to offer a more sporty-looking pickup with sharp lines to be more competitive.
Generally, the front fascia of the Avalanche looks almost the same as on the latest Suburban SUV. Interestingly, the massive grille and the LED headlights are almost identical. The side profile is different, and Avalanche is seems outfitted with new 17-inch wheels. However, we should also expect numerous trim levels and the same dose of luxury as we saw on the Suburban model.
Cabin Rumors
In this department, the new 2022 Chevy Avalanche must dominate. Basically, we are assuming that the new pickup truck will again borrow many elements from the Suburban SUV version. According to our source, the Chevy will offer at least four trim levels. The cabin should be modern with plenty of high-tech amenities. As standard equipment, we could see a dual-zone climate control, Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and numerous USB ports.
Upper trim levels are made for the customers with deeper pockets, and they will most likely include heating seats, leather upholstery, Wi-Fi, and much more.
2022 Chevy Avalanche Powertrain
At this point, there is no much information about the engine of the Avalanche pickup. Sources close to us reveals that it might be offered with two powertrain options. Most likely that it will borrow some of the existing engines.
The first candidate is a 5.3-liter V8 that could produce around 360 horsepower and 390 lb-ft of torque. As you may know, the same engine powers some Chevy models. Optionally, the manufacturer might use a more powerful 6.2-liter V8 to develop no less than 420 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque. Both engines will probably use the new 10-speed automatic transmission that is the pinnacle of Chevy’s offer.
Price and Release Date
The return of the iconic 2022 Chevy Avalanche pickup truck might happen sometime next year. Renderings that are available reveals that we can expect a completely new design language.
Pricing is not yet available, but we are assuming that it will be revealed sometime this year. Generally, we are still waiting for Chevrolet to confirm the comeback of the famous worldwide Avalanche pickup.
