Infiniti, the luxury division of the Nissan, has released several concept models recently and they announced the arrival of brand’s updated crossover SUV models. The QX Sport Inspiration Concept was showcased at the 2016 Beijing Show and the QX50 concept followed at 2017 Detroit Show. Then at the 2017 New York Show, the QX80 Monograph Concept previewed the refreshed 2018 Infiniti QX80 while the 2019 Infiniti QX50 is the all-new version of this model based on the QX50 concept.
Now, according to some speculations in the auto industry, Infiniti might soon release a new concept model but this time we are not speaking about another crossover SUV or passenger car concept vehicle yet about the pickup truck. It is true that growth of the new pickup models continues and when Mercedes can launch its luxury pickup why Infiniti wouldn’t. This is the legitim question but still without of the official answer as Infiniti hasn’t commented on the speculations about the Infiniti Pickup Truck Concept. Nevertheless, it would be great to see Infiniti’s idea about the pickup truck but before the brand proof or deny this we must rely on the speculations.
Infiniti Pickup Truck Concept: Rumors about model’s design
Nissan, the owner of the luxury Infiniti division, already has impressive pickup truck models like the global Navara and Titian and Titan XD, all of them recently redesigned. The Frontier is also Nissan’s pickup truck sold in the US and expected to enter the new generation soon. The new generation Frontier could be based on the global Navara model and Mercedes X-Class as well as the Renault Alaskan use the proved underpinning of the Navara already. We are speaking this because rumors suggesting that the Infiniti Pickup Truck Concept might also borrow Navara’s architecture. This would reduce developing and potential producing costs but would also speed up the arrival and seems like the rational solution.
On the other hand, while the new Infiniti concept might use the proven underpinning, the sheet metal and styling elements would have Infiniti’s signature. Like the recent concepts of crossover models, the pickup concept is also expected to arrive with the close-to-production styling.
The model should also have slim headlights similar to the Monograph Concept and familiar grille form. Chunky fender flares and the four-door cabin is also rumored to be seen on the truck concept vehicle. On the other hand, as per rumors, the model should be sized as the midsize model.
Nothing has been said about concept’s interior but if the model appears we should expect high-end materials, the latest tech and safety achievements plus few innovations.
Infiniti Pickup Truck Concept: Powertrain
What the Infiniti Pickup Truck Concept would have under the hood is also the matter of speculation. Some sources suggesting that model could debut with the V-6 engine under the hood. However, it is also possible that Infiniti could use the four-cylinder engine with the new technology which will also be exploited in brand’s new crossovers in order to improve performance and efficiency. Rumors also suggesting that four-cylinder engine could get the backup from the electric motor and battery.
Infiniti Pickup Truck Concept: Arrival
After the arrival of the luxury Mercedes truck, another luxury pickup option this time from Infiniti would be the nice addition to this class. However, everything is still the matter of speculation.We don’t have any proof that Infiniti is developing the Infiniti Pickup Truck Concept. The rumors claim that this concept should appear in late 2018.
