Jeep recently revealed the new-generation Wrangler which brand claims is the most capable and techier yet. But what Jeep fans are eagerly waiting as well is the Wrangler-based pickup truck. The truck version was expected alongside the new Wrangler and but Jeep delayed model’s debut about a year from now. We know now that production of this model will begin in Nov 2018 and production will take place at the Toledo Assembly Complex. The pickup truck will likely be marketed as the 2019 Jeep Scrambler.

The new Jeep’s truck will be based on the redesigned Wrangler Unlimited and will share similar styling, powertrains, and technology. The truck will likely use two of three Wrangler’s engines and will offer differed top options while will come with four-door cab only.

2017 Jeep Gladiator: News, Possible Design and Powertrains

You probably can remember Jeep’s Gladiator Concept model that this brand shown in 2005. The model was based on Ram 1500’s platform and brand presented this model as a lifestyle pickup truck that features the capabilities of the popular Wrangler.  Well, according to some reports, we might soon see production version which should be based on the next-generation long wheelbase Wrangler while its styling should be very close to what we saw on the mentioned concept model. In same context it might also be called 2017 Jeep Gladiator.

A new Wrangler-based truck has been said to arrive in showrooms sometime in 2017 probably as the 2017 model and may be named after the Gladiator concept model. On the other hand some sources claim that more likely we would see this pickup as the 2018 model. However, it should be build alongside with new generation Wrangler model in Toledo, Ohio.

If you don’t need the capability of the full-size truck or you may be take them as too big or cumbersome and something more manageable and fuel-efficient is what you are looking for, the mid-size pickup class is where you should find adequate solution. The GMC Canyon is vehicle of that type and other alternatives are models like Nissan Frontier, Toyota Tacoma, etc. The GMC Canyon came completely new for 2015 model year after a two year absence. Since this reintroduction it has been rumored that company will soon offer a premium-grade Denali version and it was confirmed at the last Los Angeles auto Show where 2017 GMC Canyon Denali was unveiled.

Until now, premium luxury versions have been something that is reserved for full-size trucks like Ford’s the King Ranch trim or Ram’s the Longhorn models and Canyon Denali is the first mid-size model offering premium luxury grade. Other GMC’s models with Denali treatment are proven as good sellers with roughly 25 percent of total sales and it is also expected with a new Canyon model. So, with new Denali model we will get the truck which offer upscale amenities and features that are optional or even unavailable on other trims, special treatment on its exterior, and two powertrain options which include one diesel option.
