2020 Chevy Silverado 3500 HD: News, Design

There were several all-new trucks from the Bowtie brand in 2018 and more is yet to come. Chevy started the year with the thoroughly redesigned light-duty Silverado 1500 and a few months after presented the new, medium-duty 4500HD, 5500HD and 6500HD models. It isn’t also the secret that the new-generation of the heavy-duty 2500HD and 3500 HD models will arrive for the 2020 model year.

Chevy already released the teaser image of the front-end design of the new Silverado HD and the 2020 Chevy Silverado 3500 HD was also caught while testing camouflaged. The interior of the model was also in the front of the spy camera. However, important details about the engine options and design are still the mystery and more should appear closer to the year-end. The all-new Chevy HD trucks should debut early next year and go on sale later in the year.

But that don’t comes so easy because this model is faced with strong rivals form Nissan and Toyota but the Ford Ranger might be returned in race as well. 2017 Chevy Colorado Review (Regular model review plus ZR2 version)

Chevy is big name in the industry of the full-size trucks and one of the most respectable rivals to the top-selling Ford trucks either on the light-duty or heavy-duty front. However, it is also present in the mid-size truck class with its Colorado version which is faced with competitors from the Nissan and Toyota. Chevy Colorado returned in the mid-size class with its counterpart GMC Canyon in 2015 after three years of absence. It came back larger in size than its previous versions but more importantly compared to its rivals it brought more modern design, better interiors and more efficient powertrains. It made another step forward for 2016 model year when the engine offer has been expanded with Duramax turbodiesel engine that is now the most efficient and capable version of this model.

For this model year, the Colorado has also upgraded MyLink infotainment interface with Apple Car Play functionality. The model is now entering in the second year after its redesign and we are expecting the new 2017 Chevy Colorado to come soon. However, so far available information doesn’t promise big changes for this model but there is possibility that the company might introduce ZR2 version of this model and according to some reports it should be very close to the same name concept model that was shown in 2014.

These models available as Sierra 2500HD and larger Sierra 3500HD come with comfortable nature, considerable capabilities and good ride quality. Like its main rivals from the Ford and Ram, these models can be configured in variety of body styles, equipment levels and powertains and Sierra 3500HD is also available with dual-rear-wheel axle which raises its hauling capabilities. In terms of mechanics, these models share hardware with equivalents form Silverado HD series.

The current generation of Sierra HD debuted in 2007 model year. Important upgrades were introduced in 2011 including new frame, suspension, upgraded turbodiesel engine and deluxe Denali trim. Next years have also brought some incremental upgrades in all aspects while the last model year added upgraded infotainment system, trailering package, and electronic steering system on higher end models. As for 2017 GMC Sierra HD, the models will add functional hood scoop which was shown on the Sierra Denali 2500HD but the same is expected with the 3500HD models. Other changes haven’t been announced and carry-over scenario is expected.
