The 2019 Nissan Titan XD is the pickup truck that splits the difference between the light-duty and heavy-duty offerings. This truck delivers a good balance between performance and price but also rides well and has functional cabins. The XD can tow up to 12, 640 pounds, more than any light-duty version but can also add the off-road ready equipment if one wants to spend more time beyond the pavement. However, with the hardware upgrades, Nissan also offers plenty of luxury features and like every good pickup truck today, the Titian XD comes in many configurations.

The XD arrived all-new for the 2016 model year and light-duty Titian came a year after. Nissan promised the V-6 option for the light-duty version and it could arrive for the 2019 model year. On the other hand, the 2019 Nissan Titan XD will stick with the V-8 engine options. Although some upgrades are expected on the V-8 duo, Nissan hasn’t revealed details yet. However, the new model will likely upgrade electronic and safety features while could also see some styling tweaks.

How it looks when Nissan goes extreme with the pickup truck we had a chance to see at the 2016 Detroit Auto Show. With the aggressive and unique styling, beefed off-road hardware and nicely trimmed interior, the Titan Warrior is one impressive truck. However, there is a big problem with this unique machine. The Titan Warrior is now just a concept model and it would definitely look much better on the road or while pushing its off-road hardware to the limits on some rugged terrains.

Fortunately, according to the latest reports from the industry insiders, Nissan is close to giving the green light for the production. Nissan hasn’t commented on that, but this model could challenge Ford’s Raptor model when it arrives sometime in next year as the 2018 Nissan Titan Warrior.

Nissan has been working hard on its pickup trucks in last few years. We saw all-new 2016 Nissan Titan XD, the truck that slots between light and heavy-duty class and offers better towing capability than light-duty versions but it is less costly than HD models. For an upcoming 2017 model year, Nissan is delivering redesigned light-duty version of Nissan Titan. These two models are essentially different trucks with different running gear despite that their similar names suggesting something opposite. But that’s not all! Nissan also shown Titan Warrior Concept shortly after XD’s debut and what is more some reports suggest that this model might get production version soon as next year and that as 2017 Nissan Titan Warrior.

Why it could happen?

The first thought when Titan Warrior Concept emerged was that this truck looks as direct rival for Ford’s Raptor model and that Nissan tests potential of this kind of truck. An appetite for performance trucks is in progression and it seems that production version of Titan Warrior has a perfect sense despite it might be only another speculation.

Nissan undauntedly continues to prove how it is serious about pickup trucks. Just a few months after its all-new Nissan Titan XD has started to arrive at dealerships, Nissan selected Detroit Auto Show to show its new concept model called Nissan Titan Warrior. This model has rugged appearance and higher riding height which indicate its off-road orientation. Its suspension has been redesigned while engine is nothing new. Inside it looks and feels modern. The model isn’t expected to go in production but officials said that this concept defines the territory where Titan might go in the future years.
